QA & Test Automation

QA & test automation services in Utah — the discipline most agencies skip

Here's an uncomfortable fact about small-business websites: most are never tested. Not once. The developer clicks around on their own laptop, it looks fine, and it ships. Then a plugin update breaks the contact form on iPhones, and for four months every mobile lead silently vanishes.

Digital Zone was founded by a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test — someone whose entire career has been catching exactly these failures in enterprise software before users ever see them. We bring that same machinery to your website: automated tests on the flows that make you money, run on real browsers, every time anything changes.

This is what "done" looks like to us

Not a screenshot of the homepage — a green test run. The suite on the right walks through a real checkout on three browsers, including the unhappy paths, before any change reaches your customers. That's the bar for every site we touch.

What's included

What you actually get

End-to-end test suites

Playwright tests that behave like a real customer: fill the quote form, book the appointment, complete the checkout. If a flow breaks, we know within minutes — not months.

Cross-browser & device coverage

Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, plus iPhone and Android viewports. Safari on iOS is where small-business sites break most, and it's exactly what 'looks fine on my machine' misses.

CI/CD test pipelines

Tests wired into GitHub Actions or your existing pipeline, so every deploy is automatically gated. A failing test blocks the release before customers see the bug.

Regression testing

Every update — plugin, theme, content, or code — triggers the full suite. The bug you fixed in March can't sneak back in October.

Performance & accessibility checks

Automated Core Web Vitals budgets and accessibility scans in the pipeline, so the site stays fast and usable as it grows instead of slowly rotting.

QA for teams & agencies

Already have developers? We build and maintain the test infrastructure your team doesn't have time for — a fractional QA engineer without the full-time hire.

Process

How it runs

01

Audit

We map your critical user flows — the ones that produce revenue — and find out what's already broken. There's almost always something.

02

Automate

We write a test suite covering those flows across browsers and devices, prioritized by business impact.

03

Integrate

The suite runs automatically: on every deploy, on a nightly schedule, or both. Failures alert us (and you) immediately.

04

Maintain

As your site evolves, the tests evolve with it. You get a plain-English report — what's covered, what ran, what it caught.

FAQ

Fair questions

My site is small. Do I really need automated testing?

If the site just displays your hours, probably not. If it takes quote requests, bookings, or payments, one silently broken form can cost more than the entire testing setup. The smaller the business, the less you can afford months of lost leads nobody noticed.

What's the difference between this and my developer 'checking' the site?

Manual checking happens once, on one browser, on a good day. Automated tests run the same 50 checks across four browsers in minutes, every single time anything changes, and never get bored or skip steps.

Can you test a site you didn't build?

Yes — most of our QA work is on sites built by others. WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, custom builds: if it runs in a browser, we can test it.

What tools do you use?

Primarily Playwright for end-to-end automation, with GitHub Actions for pipelines, plus Lighthouse-based performance budgets and axe-core accessibility scans. The same stack used by serious engineering teams — right-sized for a small business.

Wondering what's silently broken on your site right now?

Ask for a QA audit. We'll test your critical flows on real browsers and phones and send you a plain-English report of what we find — often it pays for itself on day one.
